Atlassian (TEAM) Rovo AI Adoption: Assisted Actions Up 50%

Summary
Atlassian says Rovo-assisted actions rose 50% quarter on quarter and over 80% of the Fortune 500 use the AI layer, but it still does not break out Rovo revenue.
Atlassian Corporation (TEAM) said on its 2026-08-06 earnings call that actions assisted by Rovo, its AI layer, rose 50% quarter on quarter and that over 80% of the Fortune 500 already use it[1]. Atlassian's Rovo AI adoption now comes with usage readings, but the company still does not separately disclose the revenue Rovo brings in.
What Rovo is and where it sits in Atlassian's business
Atlassian Corporation is a collaboration software company that started in Australia. Its main products are Jira, which manages projects and tasks; Confluence, where teams write documents; and Jira Service Management, a ticketing system. The company makes money mainly from subscriptions. Businesses pay by number of users and by edition tier, such as Standard, Premium and Enterprise, and cloud subscriptions are the largest piece.
Rovo is an AI layer embedded in these cloud products. Its predecessor was a set of built-in features called Atlassian Intelligence. Technical and business teams at customer companies use it to search internal documents, tickets and connected third-party tools for answers, ask questions in chat, generate content and hand specific work to agents. It sits inside the products Atlassian sells, so it is part of the core business.
Rovo's disclosures moved from user counts to work done
Atlassian's Rovo disclosures have shifted step by step from how many people use it to how much they do with it.
- 2025-01-30: the company said more than 1 million monthly active users were using Atlassian Intelligence features, a figure that includes Rovo. Management also acknowledged that Rovo was still at an early stage[2].
- 2025-05-01: the turning point. Atlassian included Rovo in all Premium and Enterprise subscriptions of its three main products, with the Standard edition to follow. Monthly active users rose to over 1.5 million, and an analyst on the call said this could sacrifice near-term revenue growth[3].
- 2025-08-07: management stated plainly that the focus for Rovo was deployment, usage and engagement, and that revenue and monetization were secondary, longer-term considerations[4].
- 2025-10-30: monthly active users reached over 3.5 million, and management noted that Rovo and AI credits are consumption-priced products[5].
- 2026-02-05: monthly active users passed 5 million[6].
- From 2026-04-30, the reading the company emphasized changed to credit consumption[7], and on 2026-08-06 it added assisted actions[1].
What the two newest readings measure
The latest two readings measure how much work customers do with Rovo. Management first said Rovo credit usage was growing more than 20% month over month[7], and in the latest period said assisted actions were up 50% quarter on quarter[1]. Monthly active users only show how many people have used the features. Credit consumption and assisted actions show that those people keep using it to get work done.
The company has not disclosed the base for either reading. The three measures cannot be converted into one another, and they do not add up to one continuous growth curve. Fortune 500 coverage describes the breadth of the customer base. It does not say how deeply each customer uses Rovo internally.
How Rovo usage connects to revenue
Rovo ships with the subscription and is not billed directly. Its link to the financials runs through credit limits: each subscription tier includes a set amount of AI credits, and the more a customer uses, the sooner it hits the cap. Teamwork Collection is the bundle in which Atlassian sells Jira, Confluence and other products together with Rovo agents. Management said it comes with approximately 10 times the Rovo credits and is an incentive for customers to upgrade their plan and add seats[1].
On this path, Rovo usage should show up in cloud revenue, as ARR expansion from existing customers that move to more expensive plans and buy more seats. Management has already said customers are upgrading to Teamwork Collection to get more credits[7]. The company has not disclosed the number of upgrading customers, the seat increase or the corresponding revenue amount.
The customer comparison is not proof of causation
The closest management has come to a financial statement is a customer comparison. Customers using Rovo grow ARR at about twice the rate of customers that do not, and management said this contributed to the quarter's cloud outperformance and expansion[7]. In the latest period the wording was more than twice[1].
This compares two groups of customers. It cannot be read as Rovo causing that growth. On the latest call, an analyst asked management directly how to separate Rovo's incremental effect from the possibility that the most engaged customers simply adopt it first[1]. Part of the growth in monthly active users also comes from Rovo being included with the subscription, which does not show that customers would pay for it separately.
What is confirmed and what is still unquantified
What can be confirmed today is that Rovo has been rolled into Atlassian's main subscriptions, and that both its users and the actions it completes are increasing. What has not been quantified is monetization. Its contribution to cloud revenue still rests on management's qualitative description. If the company discloses how many customers upgraded to Teamwork Collection because they ran out of credits, or the ARR those upgrades added, the second half of its usage-first, monetization-later route would finally have a number.
