MDU Resources Group, Inc. (NYSE:MDU) is a diversified energy and infrastructure company founded in 1924 and headquartered in Bismarck, North Dakota. Originally established as Montana-Dakota Utilities Company to serve the rural communities of the northern Great Plains, MDU has evolved over its 100-year history into a multi-faceted corporation. The company underwent significant strategic transformation in recent years, completing the spin-off of its construction materials business (Knife River Corporation) in 2023 and its construction services division (Everus Construction Group) in late 2024.
