Originally established as Comstock Homebuilding Companies, the firm rebranded in 2012 to reflect its evolution from a traditional homebuilder into a diversified real estate holding company. The company went public in December 2004 and has since focused primarily on developing and operating mixed-use and transit-oriented properties in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, one of the most economically stable and government-anchored real estate markets in the United States.
