Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores S.A. (NYSE:AVAL) is Colombia's largest financial services conglomerate, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Bogotá. The company operates as a holding company controlling four major Colombian banks: Banco de Bogotá, Banco de Occidente, Banco Popular, and Banco AV Villas, collectively holding approximately 25% market share in Colombia's banking sector. Following a strategic pivot in 2022, Grupo Aval divested most of its Central American operations through the spin-off of BAC Holding International, refocusing primarily on the Colombian market where it provides comprehensive financial services to both retail and corporate customers.
