Originally established as ASM Lithography Holding N.V., the company changed its name to ASML Holding N.V. in 2001. ASML has evolved from a small joint venture between Advanced Semiconductor Materials (ASM) and Philips into the world's dominant supplier of photolithography equipment for semiconductor manufacturing. The company went public in 1995 and has since become an essential player in the global semiconductor supply chain, serving major chipmakers across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
