Segment performance

Total first quarter revenues were $1.2 million, essentially flat from the fourth quarter of 2022 but down from $2.4 million in the first quarter of 2022. The year-over-year decline was mainly due to the timing of the original content series 'ELEVATED'. However, revenues from proprietary and third-party events at HyperX Arena Las Vegas and Allied Esports Truck operations increased by 9.5% year-over-year. Total costs and expenses for the first quarter of 2023 were $3.8 million, a decrease of $2.3 million or 38% compared to Q1 2022. Net loss for Q1 2023 was $1.9 million compared to $3.8 million in the prior year period. Adjusted EBITDA loss was $2 million in Q1 2023, a 20% reduction from Q1 2022. As of March 31, 2023, cash and short-term investments totaled $84.4 million, including $5 million of restricted cash.
