Kaspi Kasper AI Recommends Products in 80% of Chats
Kaspi's launched Kasper shopping assistant ends 80% of conversations with a product recommendation, but clicks, conversion, GMV and revenue lift remain undisclosed.
On August 10, 2026, Kaspi.kz JSC (KSPI) disclosed on an earnings call that its Kasper shopping assistant was live and that 80% of conversations ended with a product recommendation. The figure shows that AI product discovery had entered real use, but the company did not disclose subsequent clicks, purchase conversion, gross merchandise value or incremental e-commerce revenue.[1]
How Kasper fits Kaspi's business
Kaspi.kz JSC (KSPI) operates a two-sided super app for consumers and merchants in Kazakhstan, providing payments, an e-commerce marketplace and fintech services. Its e-commerce revenue includes merchant sales fees, advertising and delivery. Kasper AI Shopping Assistant serves consumers by understanding voice or text requests, asking follow-up questions, comparing products and reviews, and recommending items available for purchase on the platform. It is part of the core e-commerce business.
From a planned agent to a live shopping assistant
On May 11, 2026, the application was still an e-commerce agent plan intended to help consumers search, review and buy products.[2] By August 10, 2026, Kaspi had formally launched Kasper and disclosed usage, response speed and the rate at which conversations produced recommendations. Its consumers, product catalog and purchase-decision task remained continuous as the application moved from a pilot concept to a shopping assistant in limited production.
The 80% figure measures whether Kasper can move a consumer request to a product result that the shopper can evaluate. The company also said that about one in five customers with access to Kasper used it and that response time was about three seconds. These metrics show usability and initial adoption, but do not show that consumers accepted the recommendations, much less that conversation count equals order count.
Kasper could influence e-commerce revenue by improving product discovery. If more accurate and faster recommendations raise purchase completion or transaction frequency, they could increase platform transactions and related merchant-fee, advertising or delivery revenue. Kaspi did not provide a comparison between sessions that used the assistant and those that did not, however, and disclosed no click-through, add-to-cart, purchase-conversion or gross merchandise value data. The financial relationship therefore remains directional.
Kaspi has turned its planned e-commerce agent into a live product that understands requests and completes product recommendations, confirming that the product-discovery workflow is operating. The next critical evidence is the purchase-conversion rate and gross merchandise value for Kasper recommendation sessions compared with ordinary sessions. Until then, the 80% recommendation-completion rate shows that the assistant can produce an answer, not that it creates incremental sales.
