DocGo AI Handles Over 1,000 Patient Calls a Day

DocGo says its patient communications AI handles over 1,000 calls on a typical day, showing operating scale while cost and margin gains remain unquantified.

DocGo Inc. said on its August 17, 2026 second-quarter earnings call that its patient communications AI handles over 1,000 calls on a typical day without human intervention. The disclosure shows that the system has entered daily operations, but the company has not quantified the resulting cost savings or margin contribution.[1]

DocGo Inc. (DCGO) provides mobile health and medical transportation services, generating revenue by delivering care and patient transportation for healthcare facilities, payers and public-sector customers. Its AI Patient Outreach and Scheduling application serves patients who need appointments, mobile phlebotomy or care-gap services. It uses text and voice communications for reminders, confirmations, rescheduling, outreach and service coordination, placing it inside core service delivery rather than in a general back-office function.

From appointment texts to patient calls

The application expanded along the same patient communications workflow. On August 8, 2025, DocGo said its multilingual text agent had confirmed over 3,000 appointments, rescheduled another 350 and saved roughly 10% of live-operator time.[2] By March 16, 2026, the system had expanded into outreach to patients with care gaps, with management saying the automation enabled the team to do more with fewer resources.[3] On May 11, 2026, automation moved into mobile-phlebotomy order intake and customer service, where management expected it to help margins.[4] By August 17, 2026, the capability covered inbound patient calls and outbound scheduling calls.[1]

What the latest call metrics show

The latest figures measure automation coverage and processing scale. The tool handles 60% of inbound patient calls in mobile phlebotomy and 100% of outbound appointment-scheduling calls. On a typical day, it handles over 1,000 calls without human intervention.[1] Together, the figures show stable production traffic, but they do not reveal resolution rates, completed appointments, patient satisfaction or error rates. Call volume therefore cannot be treated as evidence of service quality.

The clearest economic pathway runs through service-delivery labor cost and margins. Automating more patient interactions may reduce live-agent time per appointment or service request and allow the same workforce to support more volume. The earlier disclosure of roughly 10% live-operator time saved provides operating evidence for that pathway, and management later connected order-intake and customer-service automation with a goal of improving margins.[2][4] However, the disclosures cover different business scopes and measurement bases. DocGo has not isolated headcount changes, cost savings or margin impact, so the evidence supports a directional link rather than demonstrated financial attribution.

DocGo's patient communications AI has progressed from appointment texts to mobile-phlebotomy phone service and now carries daily volume at the thousand-call level. Assessing whether that scale improves unit economics will require comparable before-and-after live-agent hours or service costs for the same business scope, together with a bridge to mobile-phlebotomy margins.
