Arcadia Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:RKDA) is a California-based agricultural biotechnology company founded in 2002 that has undergone a significant strategic transformation from its original focus on crop trait development to becoming primarily a consumer packaged goods company. Originally established to develop genetically improved wheat and other crop varieties with enhanced nutritional profiles and agricultural performance, the company has pivoted over the past few years to focus almost exclusively on marketing Zola Coconut Water, a premium beverage brand it acquired in 2021. The company went public in 2015 and is currently in the process of a pending merger with Roosevelt Resources, expected to complete in August 2025.
