Provenance

The data here is produced by drillr from primary sources: filings taken from each market’s official channel and parsed in house, and what companies publish on the web. This page says which source every dataset comes from.

Three sources

  • 1. Official filings, parsed by drillr. The core of the API. Filings are taken from each market’s official disclosure channel — SEC EDGAR in the US, cninfo in China, EDINET in Japan — and parsed in house, with no data vendor in between.
  • 2. The public web, collected and parsed. What companies publish outside the filing calendar: IR and newsroom pages, the earnings calls they post themselves, and public news coverage.
  • 3. drillr’s own models. Figures nobody files: EPS and revenue estimates, and derived columns on the statements. They are labelled as estimated or derived, and an estimate is replaced by the as-reported figure once the company discloses it.

Sources by dataset

  • Filings. The filing index and full-text search inside the documents, in the language they were filed in. Source: SEC EDGAR, cninfo, EDINET.
  • Financials. Income statement, balance sheet and cash flow, parsed out of the filed statements and left as reported. Source: SEC EDGAR, cninfo, EDINET.
  • Ownership. Insider transactions and quarterly institutional positions. Source: SEC EDGAR (Form 3 / 4 / 5, 13F-HR).
  • Executives. Roster, positions and annual compensation. Source: SEC EDGAR (DEF 14A).
  • Events. Events classified into a fixed set of types, with filings on the same event grouped. Source: SEC EDGAR (8-K, Schedule 13D / 13G).
  • Earnings calls. A structured summary of each call — highlights, guidance, risks, segments, Q&A — not the transcript. Source: Company IR pages.
  • Earnings calendar. Announcement dates, and the actuals once the company reports. Source: Company IR pages and public reporting schedules.
  • Analyst. Individual rating and price target changes, plus the consensus computed from them. Source: Public news coverage.
  • Signal. Industry inflections, enterprise AI adoption and news storylines, each with the evidence quoted. Source: Earnings calls, company newsrooms and IR pages, public news.
  • Estimates. EPS and revenue estimates, replaced by the actual once the company reports. Source: drillr models.

Freshness

Filings, ownership and events update within minutes of the filing; calls and news within minutes to hours; statements and analyst data daily. Rows carry the official disclosure date rather than an ingestion timestamp, and each endpoint declares its cadence as x-refresh in the OpenAPI document. Due-diligence questions: support@lil-grebe.com.
