Jabil (JBL) Q4 FY2026 Earnings: AI Infrastructure Revenue Beats Guidance

Summary
Jabil's fiscal Q4 2026 revenue of $10.6 billion topped guidance as AI infrastructure sales beat by about $900 million; it guides FY2027 core margin to 6.1%, but inventory days remain above target.
Jabil (JBL) reported fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter results above guidance: on September 30, 2026, the company released preliminary, unaudited results for the quarter and full fiscal year ended August 31, 2026, through an 8-K and an earnings call, and AI infrastructure demand lifted both revenue and profit above the top of the outlook it gave in June [1][2]. Three questions framed the prior view of the company: whether AI growth comes from several customers, whether fiscal 2027 core operating margin can exceed 6%, and whether the build-up in inventory and receivables only ties up cash temporarily. This quarter supports the first two [1][2]. The working capital question remains open: net inventory days (net of customer deposits) fell only to 64, and the return to the 55 to 60 day target has slipped into fiscal 2027 [2].
Taken together, Jabil's growth engine is larger and more diversified than previously assessed. The direction of margin expansion is confirmed, but with only 10 basis points of headroom. Cash generation beat guidance, yet it depended on payables and customer funding growing alongside the business.
Jabil is an electronics manufacturing and supply chain services company. It provides engineering, manufacturing and supply chain services to customers' designs and reports three segments: Regulated Industries, Intelligent Infrastructure, and Intelligent Devices and Robotics [3][2]. Revenue comes from customer programs, and in fiscal 2025 its five largest customers accounted for about 36% of net revenue [4].
AI infrastructure revenue beat guidance by about $900 million
Intelligent Infrastructure revenue came in well above guidance in the fourth quarter. The segment generated about $5.8 billion, up 56% year over year and roughly $900 million above the approximately $4.9 billion outlook given in June [2][5]. Consolidated revenue was $10.616 billion, up 29%, above the $9.2 billion to $10.0 billion guidance range [1][6]. Management attributed the upside to continued acceleration in AI demand, plus new capacity coming online sooner than planned and customer ramps progressing faster than expected [2].
Customer evidence indicates the growth is spread across several customers. Fiscal 2026 AI-related revenue was about $14.4 billion, roughly $800 million above the $13.6 billion expected in June [2][7]. By year end, four customers each generated more than $1 billion of AI-related revenue, up from one two years ago, and a third hyperscale cloud customer was added in the third quarter [2]. Management expects fiscal 2027 AI-related revenue of about $22.1 billion, up 54%, and segment revenue of about $25.6 billion [2].
Concentration risk remains. Management expects the second hyperscale cloud customer to account for more than 10% of company revenue in fiscal 2027 [2]. The segment already made up about 55% of fourth-quarter consolidated revenue. The revenue contribution from Hanley and other acquisitions in the quarter was not disclosed, and the five-largest-customer share will have to be checked against the next annual report.
Fiscal 2027 core operating margin guidance of 6.1%
Fourth-quarter profit also beat the top of guidance. Core operating income was $675 million and U.S. GAAP operating income was $602 million, above guidance ranges of $589 million to $649 million and $526 million to $586 million, respectively [1][6]. Core operating income excludes amortization of intangibles, stock-based compensation and restructuring, among other items. Fourth-quarter core operating margin was 6.4%, the same level implied by the midpoint of the June outlook, so the extra revenue converted at roughly the average margin [1][6]. Full-year core operating margin was 5.8%, up 40 basis points from the prior year [1].
Margin in the fastest-growing segment also improved. Intelligent Infrastructure posted a 6.5% core operating margin in the quarter, up 60 basis points year over year. Management attributed this to a better business mix, including the margin-accretive Hanley acquisition, and did not separate the acquisition's contribution [2].
The direction of margin expansion is confirmed, but delivery is weighted toward the second half. Jabil guided fiscal 2027 core operating margin to 6.1%, above the earlier 6% target, and management attributed the gain to fixed-cost leverage from revenue growth, higher capacity utilization and better mix [1][2]. Yield and training costs on about 4 million square feet of new capacity will weigh on first-half margins. The midpoint of first-quarter core operating income guidance, $622 million, works out to about 5.7% of the revenue guidance midpoint; management said this is still 20 basis points higher than a year earlier [1][2].
Conclusion
This report raises the assessment of Jabil's growth scale and customer breadth and confirms the direction of margin improvement. Cash generation is the weakest link in the evidence. Fiscal 2026 adjusted free cash flow was $1.532 billion, above guidance of more than $1.4 billion, and net capital expenditures were about 1.3% of revenue [1][2]. At year end, inventory, receivables and prepaid expenses had risen to about $7.4 billion, $6.5 billion and $4.6 billion, largely offset by an increase of about $8.0 billion in accounts payable and accrued liabilities during the year [1].
Inventory days had been expected to return to the target range in the fourth quarter but remain at 64. Management expects working capital dollars to keep rising in fiscal 2027 and guides adjusted free cash flow to about $1.6 billion [8][2]. These figures are preliminary and unaudited. The next checkpoints are whether first-quarter margin improves year over year, whether the new capacity fills with orders, whether inventory days return to the target range, and what the annual report shows on customer concentration.
